Our workshop sits above the shop, exactly where it has since 1974. Eleven craftsmen, most of whom learned the trade from their fathers, work by hand, by eye, and slowly.
01 — The sketch
We sit with you and draw.
Nothing is ordered from a catalogue. You describe the piece — or put your grandmother’s on the table — and one of us draws it while you watch.

02 — The wax
A model you can hold before it exists.
The design is carved into a block of jeweller’s wax, by hand, at the size it will actually be. You put it on your finger.

03 — The setting
The slowest week of the six.
Stones go in one at a time under a ten-times loupe, each prong pushed over with a graver and then filed flush so it will never catch a thread.

04 — The finish
Nine stages of polish, then we sleep on it.
Emery, tripoli, rouge, and six more after that. Then the piece rests overnight and we look at it again in morning daylight.
